SF Business Times: Sublease Tsunami

| May 29, 2015 | 0 Comments

Cory Weinberg of the SF Business Times has been tracking the pipeline of office space available via sublease for a while– and with good cause, as this is a great bit of data that can indicate the future direction of a market. In his latest blurb, he outlines the recent spike in Sublease space seen in The City.   Inevitable side effect of the recent heavy leasing activity there, or canary in the coal mine predicting a future softening market?   Way too early to tell.

Sublease space has run at a pretty consistent 11-12% of total available space on the Peninsula for a while– Silicon Valley’s rate is comparable.  That’s a pretty low percentage.  Nothing to see here yet, but worth watching.
