New York Times: Ford Opens Lab in Silicon Valley

| January 26, 2015 | 0 Comments

_MG_1671Ford is the latest major auto maker to make a big commitment to Silicon Valley with its new Innovation Lab in Palo Alto.  (My team had the pleasure of representing Stanford, Ford’s new landlord on this lease)– they join Tesla as a major tenant within the Stanford Research Park.

Automotive innovation has become pretty deeply ingrained in Silicon Valley– the list of automakers that have put down a significant real estate footprints to accommodate bleeding edge research is impressive.  Google self-driving cars with their spinning roof-mounted LIDAR balls are so ubiquitous in my Mountain View neighborhood that they go unnoticed.   Great diversity for the Valley– even perhaps expanding Industrial activity here.  More good news for the commercial real estate market.
