Renderings of Apple’s very distinctive planned new headquarters have been grabbing attention for a year or so- most good, some a bit derisive. The most detailed spread I’ve seen to date was just posted to Office Snapshots (if you like cool tech office interiors, this is a great place to waste some time) — great detail on the impressive planned landscaping, some Green building features, and lots more.
There’s a lot to like about this plan– the skinny floor plates will make for a great windowline, and the planned common areas/amenities sound impressive. I do wonder, though, about how a campus that will spread workers around in a huge arc somewhat reminiscent of a certain distinctive government building will foster the sort of collaborative environment so in demand in tech circles. A big improvement over their current deployment in dozens of buildings, though, and a great addition to the Silicon Valley landscape.
